Now that you’ve found me, get ready to meet yourself.

Monica Adair

Welcome!

I’m really glad you’re here. I know this is a big step and I want you to know that you are safe, celebrated, and honored for who you are, whatever body, race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, creed, or mental health status you occupy. I am excited to get to know you and be a part of your journey.

None of us were meant to face life’s challenges alone. Monica Adair Psychotherapy was created out of a passion for holding space for people in their heaviest times, so that they can meet themselves, truly, and endure the sharp pains of processing, self discovery, and finding wholeness. Sometimes the pains of life have been too complex and have ended up redefining us. The process of healing can be messy but is worthwhile in the journey of becoming fully and deeply alive-mind, body, heart, and soul.

Monica Adair Psychotherapy is a practice that values giving stellar treatment from an elite skillset. My clients receive the benefit of almost 20 years of experience and specialized training in psychotherapy approaches- behavioural, somatic, cognitive, psycho-biological, attachment based, neurological, spiritual, and systemic. With my skills and your expertise on yourself, wellness and wholeness are within reach. Whatever you are facing right now, know that you don’t have to do it alone. If you desire healing, empowerment, self- discovery, aliveness, and transformation and you are willing to look at your pain and your inner and outer life, you are the reason I do what I do. I am here for you.

“But if you travel far enough, one day you will recognize yourself coming down to meet yourself. And you will say yes.” – Marion Woodman

Land Acknowledgement:

Monica Adair Psychotherapy is owned and operated within Simcoe County. I acknowledge that Simcoe County is rich in the history and modern traditions of Indigenous people. I acknowledge that I am situated on the traditional land of the Anishnaabeg people. The Anishnaabeg include the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi nations, collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. I extend my deepest gratitude to the Anishnaabeg for being caretakers of this territory.

I acknowledge the racism and genocide that has plagued Turtle Island for hundreds of years. I recognize and honour the real history of Indigenous Peoples and am committed to continued allyship.

Indigenous People have a rich history of wisdom and deep regard for individual and collective healing, treating imbalances in the body, mind, spirit, and emotions using practices like the medicine wheel, smudges, sweat lodges, healing circles and connection to the land. I acknowledge that colonization interrupted the Indigenous ways of healing, introduced profound trauma and separation from community, culture, and wellness, and created a weakening in the entire nation. I am dedicated to learning and listening to Indigenous approaches to mental health and seeking out resources from Indigenous leaders and voices. The voices of pain and survival highlight the strengths, resilience, courage, and wisdom that are rooted in Indigenous culture, proving to the world that Indigenous Peoples are leaders in Healing.
